Trauma and Abuse Therapy
Trauma can stem from widely varying experiences: a single, sudden event—such as an accident or an assault—or situations that persist over time, such as emotional, physical, or sexual abuse experienced during childhood or within a relationship.
I have been working for 19 years with clients dealing with trauma and addiction, following an approach... person-centredI do not impose a preset path; instead, I build a safe space with you where you can process your experience at your own pace, respecting your capacity for self-understanding.
I have received specialized training in: the distinction between PTSD and complex PTSD; adverse childhood experiences (ACEs); trauma-informed interventions; the neurobiology of trauma and addiction; working with sexual violence survivors (including male survivors, an often-overlooked area); preparation for working with sexual abuse; and providing support to those who have experienced narcissistic abuse (both women and men).
I also offer specialised support for those dealing with trauma-related addictions—including substance and sexual/pornography addictions—areas where trauma and compulsive behaviours often intertwine.
You do not need to be ready to share everything right from the start; the process is built together. Sessions are available both in person in London (Holborn and Finchley Central) and online.
What approach do you use to work with trauma?
I work using a person-centred approach, based on the premise that everyone possesses the resources to understand and navigate their own experience, given the right support. I do not impose a pre-set path; together, we determine the pace and direction of the therapy.
What types of trauma do you work with?
I work with single-incident trauma (such as accidents or assaults) and complex trauma stemming from prolonged experiences, including childhood abuse, sexual violence, narcissistic abuse, and trauma-related addictions. I also have specialised training in supporting male survivors of sexual violence—an often-overlooked area.
Are the sessions also available online?
I offer sessions both online and in person at locations in Holborn and Finchley Central, London.
Are there different rates for addiction therapy?
No, addiction sessions follow the same rates as individual psychotherapy: £95 for in-person sessions in Holborn, £80 for in-person sessions in Finchley Central, or £75 online. There are no packages or discounted rates available, but sessions may be covered by BUPA, VitalityHealth, Aviva, or Allianz Partners, depending on your insurance plan. Before starting, a free 15-minute introductory call is available to discuss the most suitable approach together.
Is trauma therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything shared during the session remains strictly confidential, in accordance with the profession's code of ethics.
